bookstore camp.
My store was open today. We only told a handful of people and haven't even made our sign yet. This was like a practice day. Sort of like band camp. We did the equivalent of marching around on a football field to get the motions and the beat in sync while some loved ones watched from the bleechers. I'm exhausted. Physically and emotionally.
I haven't had much time to read lately, which is unfortunate given my immense amount of time in such close proximity to books...and that it's only a matter of time before people start expecting me to have read something sometime. I did start reading an advance copy of The Lace Reader, but since the book was released this week, the "advance" part is rather moot. Still, I'm enjoying it so far and am planning on getting it for my store. I just need to get on the ball and stay ahead of the curve or I'm going to be constantly playing catch up all the time.
